Located in
the heart of the Herault Valley in Languedoc
in the South of France, Domaine de St.
Ferreol offers luxurious holiday accommodation
for rental for all the family.
The property dates back to 822 but
prior to that there were first Greek
and thereafter Roman villas on the site. In 2006 Chateau de St. Ferréol recommenced making fine wines and now holds weekly wine tastings for all guests.
Set in the midst of vines, the ancient Domaine buildings lie in a 35 acre estate, comprising
of 2 acres of wooded parkland, 1 km of
riverbank, a bamboo park and natural
water gardens and ponds. The natural
habitat attracts a wide variety of wildlife
, great for birdwatching enthusiasts
!
St. Ferreol has currently been lovingly
restored, retaining many of the original
features. and now offers 3 , 2 and 1 bedroomed individual
holiday villas for rental all tastefully
furnished with antique furniture maintaining
a traditional Languedoc character. The
luxury bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens are furnished to the highest
standard, ensuring that your stay is
as comfortable as possible.
For your relaxation there is a large
swimming pool (13 x 6 m) with Roman
end steps set in 3/4 acre of lawns, mature
trees and parkland. It is bordered by
a century old 2 metre high wall and a dis-used small canal
over which there are panoramic views
down to the river.
As the sun begins to set it is a wonderful
experience to sit with a glass of wine
and watch the swallows skim over and sip
the water.
Set in the shady wooded parkland is
a children’s play area with swings,
a slide, a climbing frame, sand pit and
table tennis, a great place for children
to congregate in the evenings , leaving
parents free to do some well earned wine
tasting!

The whole family can also relax and
unwind by playing a game of traditional
boules, badminton, volleyball or croquet
on the estate lawns. This is an excellent holiday base from
which to explore this beautiful region
of the South West of France and Northern
Spain.
If you enjoy golf, horse-riding, tennis,
fishing, canoeing or simply soaking up
the sun on the glorious Mediterranean
beaches, all are close by. Being close
to the sea you can find a wealth of mouthwatering
fresh fish and shellfish (especially
Bouzigues Oysters ) or visit the vibrant
cafes, bars and open air restaurants
of Pezenas playing jazz and live music
long into the summer evenings.
We are happy to advise and help with
wine selection and frequently organise
visits to local vineyards where you can
sample some of the most delicious regional
reds, whites and roses.
In the midst of this colourful and picturesque
region of the South of France, where
there is so much to do, see and experience,
St Ferreol offers a peaceful and luxurious
haven in the heart of the Languedoc wine
growing countryside.
